Charley Harper- Simple Shapes with Textures

Found out about him from another blog and couldn't wait to see his works from that book! So I tried finding him from my uni library and was ecstatic that we had his book!! The book was superbly ginormous, the biggest and heaviest I've seen and I used it when I was doing some lifting exercises at home. Could be around 2~3 kgs.

Great works can be achieved with just simple shapes and textures, inspirational!

Audrey Doll #1

Finally had the time for some CAD. Here's a day's worth of work. Pretty pleased with the outcome specially when I've got minimal skills in Ilustrator. Glad I overcame my awkwardness in using the pen tool!

A Day in the Print Lab

The print lab during lunch time. My working area is where my screens are at. Sarah at the background with her ipod on.

My Pink and Duck Egg manutex mixes.

Below are just some shots I took of my printed designs done today.

I'm really glad how the colours work really well together. Only thing was that my Midnight (navy) was bleeding a little. Gotta redo this.

My favourite polychromatic print!! Let out a little yelp and did a jig when I took the screen off. Yes my tutor/ lecturer was standing next to me.

Realised that I was in the lab from 9am- 7.20pm. That's a record breaking 10.33hrs in the lab! Not to mention traffic in the morn took me 1hr 20 mins to get to uni and the 35 mins drive home at night.

Long day. Totally exhausted.

But the hard work sure is paying off :)!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Absolutely busy with my design subject for print these few weeks! Just finished ONE main design, 8 more to go omg and here's a snapshot of it. But it's looking great. Thrilled with the results :D. Hopefully the print would look just as sharp as I print it onto fabric.  Colour palette only involves 3 colours and I'm aiming to create a vintage inspired combination of Navy, Duck Egg and Pink.

Oh, it's a t-shirt/ one-pieces design for toddlers.
